Now in its 12th year, the Tribeca
Film Festival got its start when founders Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and
Craig Hatkoff sought to celebrate NYC as a film-making center. Running from
April 17-28, you can catch feature films, documentaries, and film shorts chosen
from over 5,000 submissions and coming from around the world. Venues vary for
each screening, so make sure to check out the interactive festival
map before you make any plans.
In this year's feature films, catch
the likes of Julianne Moore, Emma Roberts and John Cusack, Paul Giamatti and Paul Rudd. As for documentaries, learn
about The House of Gucci in The Director (co-produced by James Franco), hear Tina Fey
talk about Broadway legend Elaine Stritch in Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me, or a discarded 1930s typewriter
in Royal American.
